Phil&Teds are one of the worlds biggest manufacturers of buggies and pushchairs. Their innovative designs and cool features have revolutionised the pushchair and pram market worldwide. So when they decided to ask us to build them an online shop, we were pretty pleased.
Being the innovative sorts that they are, Phil&Teds wanted a few special features for their site – and being the helpful folk we are, we were only happy to oblige. Here’s just a few of the nice extras we developed for shop.PhilandTeds.com.
- Regional Support – to save having a different webshop for each country etc, philandteds.com caters for all customers worldwide with its multi-region, multi-currency support. Meaning, if you live in Norway, you can pay in NOK, or if you live in the US, you can Pay in USD. No confusing exchange rates, means you always know what you’re paying.
- Automatic region detection – to save users selecting their region, we use a clever bit of web-magic to detect where a user is located. By doing this, we immediately start displaying prices in the users native currency, which often adds an element of reassurance to online consumers.
- Unique sub-country tax rates – not all countries have the same tax rules throughout, which can sometimes be a real headache for owners of online shops. Many countries have different tax rates for each state/county, and others for different regions. Selling worldwide cannot be done efficiently with a «one-size-fits-all» approach, which is why we implemented an admin tool that allows different tax rules to be defined for each country and its counties/states/regions.
